Please note: as at 14th March 2022. Due to the recent flooding in the region, the rail trail from Wondai through to Goomeri is closed for repairs. Repairs will start next week and are scheduled to be completed in two weeks. Keep an eye on the Facebook Page for the South Burnett Rail Trail for updates. South Burnett Rail Trail
Take a bike ride on the Rail Trail
- GRAB your bike or your running shoes and travel along part of the South Burnett Rail Trail. The track follows the route of the former railway line and is a perfect track for riders of any skill level or age. Walk, cycle or run with ease along the 44 kilometres of sealed track from Murgon to Kingaroy. Stop in one of the small town cafes or bakeries for a pit stop, or explore the Wondai Timber Museum alongside the track. Experienced riders can tackle the entire trail from either direction or other riders can pick a short section starting at any of the towns. Riders often see Australian wildlife such as wallabies, kangaroos and birds on their trips and travel through towns and native forests. Dogs on leads are also welcome along the trail.
